Andrew Le Bio
Wind n' Sea Volleyball Club would like to welcome Andrew to its staff. His primary role will be to maintain the club website, but he will also act as a clinic coach.
Andrew started playing volleyball at Homestead High School for Jason Mansfield (Asst. Stanford Women's Volleyball), where he was a starting defensive specialist. During his senior year, Andrew helped his team to an undefeated league championship and a CIF-CCS semi-finals appearance.
After high school, Andrew played for two years at San Diego Mesa College under Kurt Donaldson and Kim Lester. In 2005, he was recognized by Volleyball Magazine as the California statistical leader in digs per game at the junior college level.
Andrew finished his playing career by transferring to the University of California, San Diego and walking on to the team in 2006. He played for Kevin Ring before graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology and a minor in economics. He plans on going to graduate school to become an orthopedic physician's assistant.
Andrew began coaching while still studying at UCSD. He coached for Gold Medal Squared Volleyball Camps during the summers under the direction of Doug Beal (CEO USA Volleyball), Karl McGown (BYU), Marv Dunphy (Pepperdine), and Ron Larson (UCR) all of whom were on the staff that won the gold medal in the 2008 Olympics. He has coached both the girls and boys volleyball programs at La Jolla High School since 2007, winning back to back boys' CIF championships in 2008 and 2009 with head coach Dave Jones. Currently, he is the girls' varsity head coach. Andrew is about to start his fifth season at Coast Volleyball Club after coaching his 15-2 team to a 5th place finish at the USA Junior Olympics in Columbus, Ohio.
He is happy to be part of a staff that is helping the growth of youth volleyball in the La Jolla community.
